Prayers for my daughter Ceilidh would be much appreciated...

I can't wait to get my new glasses! We have noticed over the past couple of months that Ceilidh seemed to have a "lazy" eye. Her right eye was fine but her left seemed to wander at times. We took her to her Pediatrician a week ago and he felt she was okay but better to be sure so he sent her to an Optometrist. Her appointment was this morning. Upon further investigation during a fairly lengthy appointment, the Optometrist discovered that Ceilidh has better than 20/20 vision (20/25)in her right eye but her left has almost no vision at all. Basically all she can see is motion. The Dr feels this probably has been there since birth (Ceilidh did have kind of a traumatic birth with various other problems at that time).

Apparently 2-3% of children under the age of 6 have this problem. There is a chance it can be corrected if it is caught early enough. She has to get glasses. We are going to pick out frames and order them tomorrow. She also has to keep her good eye (right) patched (covered) for 2-3 hours each day while wearing her glasses to try and train the bad eye to see. If this practice after a year does not correct the problem then she may be looking at surgery. If surgery is a viable option and that happens but does not correct the problem then by the age of 11 she could be completely blind in the left eye.

So if you could keep Ceilidh in your prayers the Peters family would really appreciate it. God is the great physician and my faith is in Him and Him alone completely. I am so grateful He provided us with the wonderful Optometrist that He did.

Ceilidh of course is excited about getting her beautiful new glasses which of course as Ceilidh stated earlier tonight will just maker her more beautiful than she already is!!!

Man I love that girl. Noah's only response to all of this was "Where are my sunglasses cuz I need glasses too!" Man I love that boy too.

You're right, God is the great physician, and He's got Ceilidh in the palm of His hands. Still, I will pray. Love you Ceilidh (and the rest of you too, LOL
