At 4 days post op...

Ceilidh really isn't doing too well. The only thing she can keep down is juice and ice cream. She even threw up jello this morning. So I had to do the inevitable. I had to give her the gravol suppository the Dr told us to use. My daughter is such a trouper. She wasn't too sure about the whole "medicine up the bum thing" but she was really good and it did help. Hurrah after 4 1/2 days of NO FOOD she ate some strawberry/applesauce and some ice cream and then asked if she could have chocolate out of her Christmas stocking. She did not get the chocolate. She still has a fever and is really pale. She started dancing and singing again yesterday (late in the day) which is a really good sign she's getting her "spark" back. She sleeps a lot right now and I know she's getting sick of juice, water, gingerale and popsicles. I sleep very little at night so I can listen for her. I just want to hug her non stop and take away all her discomfort and give her her voice back. She is soooo muffled right now it's hard to understand what she is saying. Chrissy brought her home a princess balloon which cheered her up and her daddy brought her home a dozen beautiful carnations which she was so excited about. She asked if we would put one in her hair to "try and help make(her)pretty again". She then asked if she was pretty enough to have her picture taken so daddy snapped this keepsake. Thanks for praying for Ceilidh. Please keep it up if you can as in about 2-4 days the scab is going to come off and she could run into some real discomfort then. Kisses from Ceilidh mwa!!! :-)M.
